Transcript of selected dialogue only:
Priestess of Andraste: Ah! I suspect you are one of the new Grey Wardens. Will you accept the Maker's blessing?
Mahariel: I do not worship your gods, human.
PoA: A Dalish wanderer, I presume? The Maker will not refuse to bless you, if you are willing to receive Him.
Mahariel: If you're not, He crushes your home and kills your brothers?
PoA: I'll not discuss politics here. Take your hatred and begone!
#dragon age#oc tag: brynmor mahariel#just realized they used the wrong be gone vs begone here#no one told me about the typo ;w;

Daveth: She's a Witch of the Wilds, she is! She'll turn us into toads!
[Nonsequential]
Mahariel: Can you take us to [your mother]?
Morrigan: There is a sensible request. I like you.
Alistair: I'd be careful. First it's, "I like you…" but then "Zap!" Frog time.
Daveth: She'll put us all in a pot, she will. Just you watch.
Jory: If the pot's warmer than this forest, it'd be a nice change.

with three games of lore it does hit different that Flemeth may have gone back for One Of The People or Sentiment rather than Prophecy or Strategy

8, 9, and 10 for the oc asks + oc of your choice!
Thank you for the ask!! ヾ(^▽^*)))
I'll answer for Étoile Ienith (bg3) (because I'm obsessed), Brynmor Mahariel (da:o) (because I'm developping him) and Meldiara Droroni (skyrim) (because she needs some attention every now and then).
8: Describe one of your OC’s bad habits.
Étoile
I've discussed with friends (and maybe here too) that Étoile is bad with remembering and honouring dates; birthdays, anniversaries, etc. And that's bad enough already, but I think it stems from an inability to conceptualize time or commit to longer courses of action generally. And I don't think they're magically cured of this under the weight of responsibility (with the Spawn and otherwise) post-canon. Someone else is mapping out settlement goals for these people, and keeping a calendar that reminds Étoile (and anyone else) what festivals, days of remembrance and other milestones pass and approach.
I contributed this concept about Étoile and Minthara in the timeline that they share with @/razrogue's Gan:
At some point when things are just "going well" and Étoile expects Minthara to be receptive to it, they get Minthara a rose and a box that contains four perfumes and two poisons or something of the like. Minthara, "What's this for?" Étoile, "For the first time we kissed, you can call it an anniversary." Minthara, "And you remembered that?" Étoile, "Not even remotely. But if you want to say it was today, I'll mark it on a calendar."
Brynmor
I've been picturing Brynmor reciting a tale or two of Zevran's recounted assassinations without thinking, even just to himself. He reassures Zevran about his motivations by declaring, do you think Dalish oral histories are innate? They're practised, rehearsed, repeated. Brynmor has a bad sense of "personal space" — despite having an understanding of privacy / secrecy / decorum. Even the histories are private, he's not going to recount Dalish ceremonies or private tales of woe in Denerim square. He just wants to remember.
Meldiara
Meldiara has a bad habit of trivializing the problems of others, but with the life of impoverished labour she led (where problems were life and death) before being heralded as the / a Dragonborn (where problems are on a cosmic scale), it can maybe be understood, even if it's still unforgivably rude. She also has a bad habit of stealing things, but does this count / matter after you've joined the Thieves' Guild. (I don't call her guildmaster because I'm thinking of asking @lucius-the-sinful if she and Farknir can be skulking around Helón Drevus' worldstate. I'd even rethink any or all of her love interests to do so!)
9: Your OC is having a nightmare. What is it?
Étoile
If Étoile had nightmares they would be about the moment they broke their oath and that it would twist the scene to be viewed from different angles, with lies about what really happened.
Brynmor
Nightmares that aren't Archdemon-led for Brynmor would vary.
Before discovering Tamlen's fate, they would be about Tamlen's shade trapping them in the ruined temple with the broken mirror.
After discovering Tamlen's fate, they would be about Tamlen dragging his broken body through the forests, trapped in his mind and watching the others at his side slowly turning into shrieks and being unable to perceive himself to know how quickly he was also changing.
The dread. The dread. The dread.
Nightmares of his parents and anything else Ashalle may have elected to keep secret. Were either or both of his parents cursed or abominations? How could the clan have kept that his father was the previous keeper from him? Were his origins more sinister with the crimes of a selfish elf?
Nightmares of nothingness in all directions, where movement was impossible or meaningless.
Meldiara
I think Meldiara would have nightmares where in a moment of passion or anger she injured (sometimes fatally) someone dear to her and was able to feel the weight of immeasurable regret.
10: You are conducting a ritual. What 5 items would you need to summon your OC?
Étoile
A vial of icewater (preferably from the Earthfast / Winterhold Mountains)
A holy symbol of Auril / Azura
A glass of Devil's Blood Whiskey
The Orphic Hammer (sorry, gotta work for it)
A blood sacrifice (up for interpretation)
Brynmor
A bowl of halla milk
A round knife for working leather
An open grave (graveyard not required)
A burnt symbol of Andraste's Church (priest robes, a written copy of the Chant, etc.)
A recitation of something that changed the storyteller's life
Meldiara
Something stolen (the more valuable the better)
A dragon's skull or soul
A tankard of ale (quality irrelevant)
Shoes worn for at least a year outside of Skyrim
A cloak made of raven feathers

Then I chose vallaslin (facial tattoos)! With some help deciding from friends, I chose the ones that represent Ghilan'nain, Mother of Halla.
And his name. I wondered about Caradoc (beloved one), Arbon (great tree) or Brynmor (great hill); and decided against Arbon since he'll probably romance Zevran and I'd like it better if their names didn't both end in N for arbitrary reasons. I still might consider his full name being Caradoc Brynmor Mahariel.

I decided I'll try to replay the dragon age trilogy ahead of the veilguard; which i still don't intend to pre-order on principle, but am looking forward to as an eventuality
started by making an elf in the toolset:
#scocophobia tw#dragon age#oc tag: brynmor mahariel#i don't like selecting make up or tattoos in the toolset because they always look different in all the many in-game lightings
